MOSI is a fascinating and fun day out for all the family. Located on the historic site of the world’s oldest surviving passenger railway station, housed in five listed buildings, MOSI’s fascinating galleries and outstanding collections tell the story of Manchester’s scientific and industrial past, present and future.

Here are just some of the many exciting things to see and do at MOSI. In fact there is so much going on that one trip might not be enough!

• Revolution Manchester, an interactive, digital journey through the city’s greatest innovations. Packed with cutting-edge technology and one of the UK’s largest indoor media walls, this is a must-see gallery for any visitor. Don’t forget to have your photo taken for our digital sculpture!
• Have fun in Experiment, our massively revamped science gallery, with over 30 hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy.
• See one of the world’s largest collection of working steam mill engines in the fascinating Power Hall, plus some impressive locomotives
• Find out about the dramatic history of flight in the Air & Space Hall
• Go back in time to the living conditions of 19th-century Manchester, including walking through an authentic replica Victorian sewer – complete with smells!
• See the past brought to life with our award-winning historical characters**
• Get involved with our fun science busking demonstrations*
• Enjoy a journey across the North West’s night sky in our Planetarium (charges apply)
• Have a go on Morphis, our exciting motion simulator (charges apply)
• Take in a show in our fantastic 4D Theatre (charges apply)
• Take a ride behind a replica of the 1830 Planet steam locomotive, which ran on the original railway, or the recently restored Agecroft No. 1*** (charges apply)
