February Half Term activities at the National Waterways Museum
Thanks to the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port, families can enjoy an action packed February half term filled with great activities.
Youngsters will be able to take part in fascinating felt making craft sessions and listen to atmospheric storytelling. And they will also be able to see how the housework used to be done with a range of demonstrations in the historic Porters’ Row cottage at the museum site. These will include fire laying, seed planting, carpet beating and on some days a traditional Victorian wash day will be taking place.
National Waterways Museum Marketing Manager Oliver Briscoe said: “Seeing how fires used to be laid, or the effort involved in old fashioned washing is something which few of today’s children, or even adults, will have been able to experience.
“This museum is a great place to see all this at half term, in the cosy warmth of our preserved cottages.”
