After months of campaigning, the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre has been awarded charitable status by the charities commission, this is a major achievement for the centre which means they can now claim gift aid on any donations or bequests, and can apply for grants.
The centre has also recently be awarded official accreditation as a museum, by the VAQAS scheme of quality assurance, a very important and prestigious award.
In Bolton town centre there is a statue of Fred surrounded by cobblestone sets, recently the Council decided to take up these cobblestones and replace them with concrete paving flags, the cobblestones will now be used to lay a path around Freds Garden at the Heritage Centre.
Stop press !! Please note sponsor a Cobblestone cost reduced
Now just £85 This is your chance to be a part of the magic of Freds place.
How would you like to have your name immortalised in Freds Garden, be one of the first to sponsor a cobblestone and have your very own name engraved on a brass plaque along the cobblestone path, (or dedicate a plaque to a loved one, as some are already doing) this will remain here on view in Freds Garden for however long the Heritage centre exists, which could be 25, 50 or even 100 years, you will also receive a beautiful scroll style certificate confirming your sponsorship of a cobblestone and a picture of your engraved plaque, and a FREE ticket voucher so you can come and see your plaque, for a little extra donation you can have an exact duplicate of your engraved brass plaque in a mahogany frame to display at home.
For more details of this please email freddibnahtours@live.com as soon as possible, there are a limited number of cobblestones to go around the garden, so it has to be first come first served. It will be a stunning and beautiful addition to Freds Garden, and if there are enough sponsors Fred's Heritage Centre will be able to complete their next major job, so please tell your friends and family about this campaign.
