Hundreds of museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage sites across the UK will unlock their doors for special evening events for this year’s Museums at Night initiative.
As usual Manchester City Region has something to offer!
There are a number of events in the area to entice you to make the most of your evenings and experience something a little bit different.
Look out for ghostly sightings on the Manchester Museum spooky tour plus watch an after-hours family friendly film.
Take a torch-lit tour of John Rylands Library on a Doctor Who themed night, come as your favourite character and watch two fantastic episodes screened in the library.
Are you a Roundhead or Cavalier? At Staircase House, Stockport you can join the conspiracy of the Civil War and decide if you support King or Parliament.
Take a tour of Bramall Hall and discover some of its legends through the medium of rhyme. Listen to The Legend of the Red Rider and the Maid of Bramall Hall, before taking a closer look at the Viking roots behind the painting, "Where is my Lord, the King?"
Unlock the creative poet inside in a free workshop looking at the art of poetry and the spoken word at Stockport Art Gallery.
Hat Works Stockport will be screening a series of short films produced by some of the best Short Film Makers in the world, including the internationally renowned and newcomers alike. So sit back, relax, enjoy your popcorn and be entertained!
So why not do something different in the evenings and take in a museum at night. There’s something for everyone!
