Thomas is back!

It is not just William and Kate who got something to celebrate over the bank holiday weekend! After years of absence, the East Lancashire Railway is delighted to see Thomas and Friends™ rolling into the railway for three full days from Saturday 30th April – Monday 2nd May, 10am – 4pm. With the full entertainment programme announced, staff and volunteers are busy preparing for the event which is set to be one of the railway’s biggest in 2011.
Calling all fans of the little blue engine (and with sunshine booked!), the three-day event will see Thomas riding up and down his own branch line, the Fat Controller making sure Thomas and his friends behave, lots of hands-on kids activities such as a pottery workshop, Punch & Judy and a circus show plus Thomas entertainment galore including Thomas temporary tattoos, face-painting, story-reading and film screenings. Click here to view the full event programme.
There is no pre-booking required and families are welcome to just turn up on the day. However, Day Out With Thomas™ is a full day event so visitors are advised to arrive before lunchtime and allow at least 4 hours for their visit.
The April event is the first out of a series of three Day Out With Thomas™ announced for 2011. Two additional events will take place on the 6 – 7 August and 1 – 2 October.
