East Lancashire Railway has confirmed that additional services have gone on sale this week following unprecedented interest in this year’s Santa Specials. The Santa Specials schedule on Wednesday 21st December has been extended to run additional services at 10am and 4.15pm, both departing from Bury Bolton Street Station.
Andy Morris, General Manager, said:
“Following the unprecedented demand for Santa Specials in the run up to Christmas, these additional tickets are a wonderful opportunity to treat the family to a special day out which will undoubtly get everyone into the festive spirit!”
Tickets include a steam train ride from Bury to Ramsbottom whilst Santa and his helpers are making their way through the carriages to hand out a present for each child and a mince pie and sherry for the adults. Entertainment includes costumed characters, a walk-through grotto, carol singing, a live brass band and a Christmas treasure hunt at Bury Transport Museum.
Around 29,000 tickets have already been sold and most dates have no further tickets available at this time. However, there is still good availability for Wednesday 21st December and Thursday 22nd December. Tickets are being sold on a first come, first served basis and are available from www.quaytickets.com or via telephone on 0161 764 7790 (daily 10am – 4pm).
