This Christmas Exhibition is going to be a cracker!
Pom Pom!, an installation featuring colourful pom poms full of character and made by people of all ages and abilities, will be making a ‘flash mob’ appearance at Marburae Gallery’s Christmas exhibition entitled ‘Gifted’.
Caroline Backhouse, the Artist behind Pom Pom! has been coordinating a mass participation public art project that will be part of Nantwich Festival of Arts 2012. It will be brought to the people of Macclesfield by Marburae Gallery as a sneak preview in 2011!
The programme of workshops and activities in the run up to the Nantwich Festival will mean that people can be part of one of the flash mob events. To get a head start pop along to the exhibition open evening on the 15th December from 7.30pm to create your very own Pom Pom which will become part of the Nantwich Arts Festival.
Caroline Backhouse commented that “Pom Poms are adventurous blighters and will be making some more appearances around East Cheshire – if you are out and about, keep an eye out – you might just spot one in the wild!”

‘Gifted’ will run from 16th December 2011 until 21st January 2012 please visit www.artinmacclesfield.co.uk for more information.
