Hard Times was a fantastic achievement for the Library Theatre Company, both artistically and logistically. Whilst making the show, Library Theatre Company was followed by local documentary maker, Greg Bevan, who put together this film.
Hard Times was the first in a special series of events set outside conventional theatre spaces, Hard Times was produced in an original disused cotton mill and was put together by a team of over 120 people and partner organisations including Modern History with the support of the ERDF.
Watch the team as the production is put together and rehearsed and hear about the challenges of creating theatre for a modern day audience in a building that has been empty for decades! Featuring excerpts from the show as well as rehearsals and narration by the director, designer, actors, Community Company and more.
