Yesterday, three of Middleton's historic visitor attractions, Middleton Parish Church - St Leonards, Queen Elizabeth Old Grammar School, the Edgar Wood Centre and Ye Olde Boar's Head were presented with the prestigious PIQAS accreditation following Middleton's Golden Cluster, a special month-long festival which took place in September to celebrate these historic buildings and showcase Middleton's intriguing history.
The Mayor and Mayoress attended the presentation ceremony which saw the venues awarded PIQAS accreditation following a mystery shop by Visit England, which all of the venues passed with flying colours!
This is a real achievement for Middleton as they are the first four awards to be given to the smaller attractions in the Rochdale Borough. The borough's quality offer will continue to be recognised at a national level.
