MODERN HISTORY GREATS TEACHING RESOURCE

We are pleased to present the Modern History Greats Top Trumps teaching resource which provides a fun interactive way to engage children in learning about the history of the region.

Using the great legacy of the North West's industrial heritage we have produced a pack of Top Trumps playing cards which feature 30 key inventors and inventions from the region.  We have developed our learning resource to be used in conjunction with the playing cards to provide you with a fun engaging way to facilitate learning around our region's history and other curriculum subjects, including maths, ICT, art, DT and English.

Make a human timeline, plan days out, build The Blackpool Tower, design a leaflet, print a t-shirt and try out weaving are just a few of the activities covered in the activity sheets and warm up games which can be downloaded here.

The playing cards also feature a wide range of museums, attractions and places to visit to give you lots of ideas on where you can plan your school trips,  to extend  the children's learning from the classroom into places where the children can see history in action.
