World of Glass

At World of Glass they believe making learning fun is key to a great school outing. They have a designated Photograph of the World of Glass education suite which can accommodate up to 40 children in any one workshop. They have a team of education officers and facilitators who will guide you through what each visit will include, helping make the most of your day. They also have a room that can be made available for packed lunches and the Kaleidoscope Cafe that is able to offer reasonably priced lunchboxes and children's hot meals. Your visit can be tailor made to suit from a wide offer of guided tours, handling, gallery and craft sessions. In addition to any pre arranged workshops your visit will include:

Live glassblowing demonstrations with commentary specially targeted to the age of the children, which will enhance your education visit.

A Glass Revolution Special Effects film show, about the history of glass and the amazing impact it has had on our everyday lives.Mirror Maze and Practical Glass Magic area, where pupils can explore the wonders of colour, light, reflection and other optical illusions.

Merseyside Maritime Museum

Photography of Merseyside Maritime Museum There are a programme of events for education and community groups available at Merseyside Maritime Museum. There is also a programme of sessions for education and community groups, including teachers' sessions. You can search a database of events and also access information on planning your visit here.

You can run your group visit as either a guided visit or a self-guided visit with additional resources which allows you to plan and lead your own visit to specific displays using resources provided by the museum. You can also plan your visit as a Museum-led session where the museums staff lead ‘hands-on’activities or performances specially written for children, young people and adult groups. Accommodation for eating packed lunches is available in the nearby cooperage building and this facility is allocated according to a timetable and must be booked in advance.
